ack aboard, the entertainment continued with whales nearby, including some spectacular tail-slapping, before we headed north towards North Bondi — with spring rolls disappearing along the way. As soon as we entered the water for dive two, we were greeted by a large Grey Nurse Shark cruising around, seemingly just as interested in the new visitors as we were in it. Exploring North Bondi's spectacular sandstone topography and swim-throughs brought more Grey Nurses, PJs and Wobbegongs, schools of Yellowtail, a friendly Blue Grouper and a very industrious little octopus collecting shells for its hideaway. And accompanying us underwater was the unmistakable sound of whale song, heard strongly during the dive and adding something very special to an already memorable morning. Mola mola, Grey Nurses, whales above and below, beautiful visibility, Sydney sandstone—and one newly acquired garden anchor.
